How-to Guide - Configuring Cash and Card Payments

The purpose of this guide is to show how to configure Cash and Card payment methods (Tender Types) in the Enactor Estate Manager and POS. It covers Tender configuration for Cash and Card tenders, Card Type configuration, IIN Range configuration, and the creation of a Tender Menu at the POS.

Tender Type configuration sets up the payment rules and behaviours for how each payment method operates at the Point of Sale. Card Types and IIN Ranges define the card schemes accepted and how they are identified. The Tender Menu configuration makes the configured tenders available to cashiers at the POS.

note

This guide provides practical guidance for the most common Cash and Card payment setup. Refer to the full Enactor solution documentation for a detailed explanation of all available settings. Configuration of the Enactor Payment Service itself (acquirer connectivity, PED setup) is out of scope for this guide.

Overview

This guide covers:

  1. Tender Configuration - Accessing Tender Maintenance and configuring Cash and Card tenders.
  2. Card Types - Defining the card schemes accepted (e.g. Visa, Mastercard) and their processing rules.
  3. IIN Ranges - Configuring the card number ranges used to identify each card type.
  4. Tender Menu Configuration - Adding Cash and Card Tender buttons to the POS menu.

Prerequisites

Resources

Before starting, the following resources should be in place:

  • Enactor Estate Manager
  • Enactor POS (configured and connected to the Estate Manager)
  • Standard Configuration (Base Configuration and appropriate regional config pack)

Prior Training/Experience

You should be familiar with the following:

  • Estate Manager configuration
  • Enactor configuration concepts: Locations, POS Terminals, Regions
  • Data broadcasting
  • Standard POS Sales processes
