Align

Align - Figure 1Align - Figure 2
Figure 1Figure 2

This option (Figure 1) enables the User to Align a selection of the process to top, middle, bottom, left, centre or right of the selected area, enabling the User to line up actions etc and generally tidy up the diagram. Select the figures to be aligned (at least two), by holding down the left mouse button and drawing a rectangle around the required area. They will then be aligned with the last figure selected. The 'anchors' (the boxes on the selection rectangle) will be filled in squares to help identify which figure will be aligned with. The contents of the selection are then aligned according to the selected alignment value. The alignment is selected from a fixed drop down list (Figure 2).

Contract

Contract

This option enables the User to remove extra space between all figures in the diagram.

Distribute Horizontally

Distribute Horizontally

This option enables the User to distribute a selection of the process horizontally, enabling the User to space out some figures and generally tidy up the diagram. Select the figures to be distributed horizontally (at least three), by holding down the left mouse button and drawing a rectangle around the required area. They will be evenly distributed between the horizontal bounds of the left-most and right-most figures selected.

Distribute Vertically

Distribute Vertically

This option enables the User to distribute a selection of the process vertically, enabling the User to space out some figures and generally tidy up the diagram. Select the figures to be distributed vertically (at least three), by holding down the left mouse button and drawing a rectangle around the required area. They will be evenly distributed between the vertical bounds of the left-most and right-most figures selected.

Expand

Expand

This option enables the User to add extra space between all figures in the diagram.

Show Labels

Show Labels

This option enables the User to toggle whether labels (on connections), default connections and/or connections are displayed on the diagram. This can be useful for complicated diagrams with many connections.

Snap To Geometry

Snap To Geometry

This option enables the User to snap figures to the bounds of existing figures in the diagram when dragging them around. Depending on where you select the figure you are dragging, and where you are on the diagram, you will be able to snap to either: the left-hand edge, the right-hand edge, the vertical-centre, the top edge, the bottom edge, or the horizontal centre. A blue snap-guide will be displayed when this snapping is being applied.

Snap to Grid

Snap To Grid

This option enables the User to snap figures to the grid when dragging them around. This enables the User to tidy up the diagram. The grid size can be customized in the preferences.

Toggle Fan Routing

Toggle Fan Routing

This option enables the User to identify individual connections in a complicated diagram, where numerous connections are going to the same place. Normally it would not be possible to select the different connections, as they will be overlaying each other. If fan-routing is enabled then where a connection overlays another that is connecting to the same place, the last part of the overlayed connections will 'fan' to allow you to select them.

Trace Process

Trace Process - Figure 1Trace Process - Figure 2
Figure 1Figure 2

This option enables the User to set a trace on the process being edited. This means that the Editor will highlight each action/state/prompt as it is executed by the system (Figure 1).

The sliding scale to the right of the icon (Figure 2) enables the User to select the speed at which the trace executes. If the slider is at the left-hand edge, the delay is 500ms. If it's at the right-hand edge it's 5s. It defaults to 2s. The delay is the amount of time the process will pause on an action/state as the process moves around the diagram.

Zoom

Zoom - Figure 1Zoom - Figure 2
Figure 1Figure 2

This option enables the User to control the size of the display (Figure 1). Clicking on the arrow will present the User with a drop-down list (Figure 2).

The User can either select a specific percentage, width (which will display the file to page width, with no horizontal scroll bar) or height (which will display the file to page height, with no vertical scroll bar).
