This section describes the various options available from the business process editor taskbar. Please click on the required icon for further information.

This option (Figure 1) enables the User to Align a selection of the process to top, middle, bottom, left, centre, or right of the selected area, enabling the User to line up actions etc and generally tidy up the diagram. Select the figures to be aligned (at least two), by holding down the left mouse button and drawing a rectangle around the required area. They will then be aligned with the last figure selected. The 'anchors' (the boxes on the selection rectangle) will be filled in squares to help identify which figure will be aligned with. The contents of the selection are then aligned according to the selected alignment value. The alignment is selected from a fixed drop down list (Figure 2).

Bring To Front

This option (Figure 1) is used when there are overlapping elements, e.g. will bring those at the back to front for visibility. The required option is selected from a fixed drop-down list (Figure 2).

Distribute Horizontally

Distribute Horizontally

This option enables the User to distribute a selection of the process horizontally, enabling the User to space out some figures and generally tidy up the diagram. Select the figures to be distributed horizontally (at least three), by holding down the left mouse button and drawing a rectangle around the required area. They will be evenly distributed between the horizontal bounds of the left-most and right-most figures selected.

Distribute Vertically

This option enables the User to distribute a selection of the process vertically, enabling the User to space out some figures and generally tidy up the diagram. Select the figures to be distributed vertically (at least three), by holding down the left mouse button and drawing a rectangle around the required area. They will be evenly distributed between the vertical bounds of the left-most and right-most figures selected.

Snap To Geometry

Snap To Geometry

This option enables the User to snap figures to the bounds of existing figures in the diagram when dragging them around. Depending on where you select the figure you are dragging, and where you are on the diagram, you will be able to snap to either: the left-hand edge, the right-hand edge, the vertical-centre, the top edge, the bottom edge, or the horizontal centre. A blue snap-guide will be displayed when this snapping is being applied.

Snap To Grid

This option enables the User to snap figures to the grid when dragging them around. This enables the User to tidy up the diagram. The grid size can be customized in the preferences.
