POS Operation - Objectives and Exercises

Objectives

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Log on to the Retail POS
  • Carry out simple transactions, including scanning products and taking payment
  • Use Rich Product Search to look for products and add them to the basket
  • Carry out transactions that include discounts, promotions and other modifications
  • Carry out Returns and Voids
  • Perform simple cash management functions, such as floats and spot checks

POS Operations - Exercise 1: POS Transactions Functions

  1. Connect to your Virtual Machine
  2. Start the POS (Double click the Enactor Thin POS icon)
  3. Log in to the POS using your POS User user and password
  4. See the sheet provided. This provides a set of transactions to enter
  5. Once you have completed the transactions, please try the Cash Management functions on the sheet

11. Spot Check

Log On

  1. Execute a spot check (Manager - Terminal Cash Management - Spot Check)
  2. Estimate the Cash Value
  3. Enter the value against any denomination(s)
  4. Complete and check the discrepancy

12. Cash Up and Closing Float

Log on

  1. Execute a Cash up and Closing Float (Manager - Terminal Cash Management - Cash Up and Closing Float)
  2. Enter a Closing Float Value of 100.00
  3. Estimate the Takings Value (using the spot check figure from exercise 11 above)
  4. Complete and check any discrepancy
