  • Understand and execute the various cash management functions
  • Execute cash management functions at the POS or Back Office

Cash Management Operations and Configuration Topics

Cash Management Modes

  • Closing Float - cash is counted and a closing float remains in the till
  • Empty - the till is fully emptied at cashup
  • Leave - cash is left in the till without counting

  • Terminal Cash Management - float, pickup, expense, spot check, and cashup at the terminal
  • Safe Cash Management - safe-level cash management and banking
  • POS and Back Office Operation - operations available from both POS and Estate Manager

Exercise 6 - Cash Operations

Carry out the following Cash Operations on your POS:

  1. Float (add 500 kr. Cash)
  2. Expense (1000 kr. Cash)
  3. Spot Check; how much does the POS think is in the Cash Drawer
  4. Pickup (take 2500 kr. out)
  5. Cashup and Closing Float - Leave 1500 kr. float; Cashup the rest; Do you get a discrepancy warning? Why/Why not?
  6. In the EM, check your terminal history. Can you see the transactions you processed?
  7. What is the status of the Cash Session(s) for your POS Terminal? Why?

Exercise 7 - Cash Management Configuration

  1. Configure the Cash Management Settings on your TRAINx Tender Type
  2. Set the Tender type so it can be Floated and Cashed Up
  3. Set the Tender Type so it is entered by Denomination
  4. Set a Safe and Terminal Discrepancy threshold of 100 kr.
  5. Save and broadcast
  6. Try some Cash Management functions on your POS. Is your tender available or not? Why?
  7. What happens when you select your tender for a cash management function? When could this be useful?
