Promotion Data Relationships

Promotion
Contains the rules for how automated discounts and rewards are applied.
Customers / Customer Groups / Loyalty Tiers — may be valid only for specific customers; if not, applies to all
Voucher Types — may be triggered only if a voucher of a specified type is captured
Locations / Regions / Fascias — may be valid only in specific areas of the business
Promotion contains 1 or more
Item Set
Defines the product triggers and benefits; may apply to all products or specific inclusions/exclusions.
can have 1 or more >
Product — individual products may be assigned
MMGroup — MM Groups (Merchandise Categories) may be assigned
Product Group — Product Groups (ad-hoc sets of products) may be assigned

Exercise 25 - Percent Discount Promotion

  1. Open Promotions; Create: Region - United Kingdom; Promotion ID - TRAINx-PERCENT; Create
  2. Enter: Description - TRAINx Percent Discount; Operation with Previous Promotions - Calculates Net; Operation with Discounts - Applies after discounts on net
  3. Overlap tab: Confirm overlap settings are off
  4. Item Sets tab: Add Item Set
  5. Type tab: Description; Promotion Type - % Discount; Discount Rate - 20%; Rounding Rule - Nearest
  6. Threshold tab: Count - 1
  7. Products tab: Add your MERCH-x product ID
  8. Save Item Set
  9. Timetable tab: Start Date - Today; End Date - end of next month
  10. Save

Exercise 26 - 3 for 2 Promotion

  1. Open Promotions; Create: Region - United Kingdom; Promotion ID - TRAINx-3FOR2; Create
  2. Enter: Description; Operation with Previous Promotions - Calculates Net; Operation with Discounts - Applies after discounts on net
  3. Overlap tab: Confirm off
  4. Item Sets: Add Item Set
  5. Type tab: Description; Promotion Type - Closest Products Free; Number of Free Products - 1
  6. Threshold tab: Count - 3
  7. Products tab: Use search icon; Filter Style ID - STYLE-x; Check SKU products; Select Apply Selection
  8. Save Item Set
  9. Timetable tab: Today to end of next month
  10. Save
