System Updates​

  • Application Updates uses the standard Data Broadcast mechanism
  • If the recipient is unavailable, the update message will stay on the server
  • Once the machine comes back online, it will download the update and apply it during the next update window
  • In the event that the Application is interrupted while installing new software, Windows will automatically roll-back any partially installed software

System Updates - Database Upgrades​

  • Applying the App Update and DB upgrade are independent
  • Automatic Database Schema Upgrades during Application start up - Schema Changes; Updating data; Index maintenance
  • Schema upgrade will carry on from where it stopped if forced to stop during start up
