System Updates
- Application Updates uses the standard Data Broadcast mechanism
- If the recipient is unavailable, the update message will stay on the server
- Once the machine comes back online, it will download the update and apply it during the next update window
- In the event that the Application is interrupted while installing new software, Windows will automatically roll-back any partially installed software
System Updates - Database Upgrades
- Applying the App Update and DB upgrade are independent
- Automatic Database Schema Upgrades during Application start up - Schema Changes; Updating data; Index maintenance
- Schema upgrade will carry on from where it stopped if forced to stop during start up
