Edge (Thin Client):

  • App served from the Edge Server
  • No local database
  • If LAN goes down -- stops trading
  • Update the server once
  • Best for: fixed LAN, kiosk tablets

Native Mobile:

  • App installed directly on device
  • Local database on device
  • If LAN goes down -- keeps trading
  • Push updates to each device
  • Best for: pop-ups, patchy WiFi
